It was truly an honor to participate in the “Women in Leadership Panel”
hosted by the Dubai Business Women Council on April 29th. I had the
opportunity to speak alongside female business leaders in the community
including Elissa Freiha, Co-Founder and Managing Director, WOMENA, and
MunaEasa Saleh Al Gurg, Director of Retail, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group and Chairwoman, Young Arab Leaders UAE. The panel was moderated by Katie Fielder, News Anchor, Dubai One’s Emirates News.Elissa started her own female run business of angel investors and was listed as one of Arabian Business’ 100 most powerful Arab women in 2015 and 2016. Muna not only runs her family’s business alongside her two sisters, but has also founded ten lactation rooms for working mothers in business all over Dubai and teaches classes to women interested in learning more about finance. Key themes from the panel included: challenges and opportunities for women in the region, the need for resources for working mothers, required support from both male and female counterparts, the availability of tools to help achieve goals, and the importance of self-confidence. I am grateful to Nadine Halabi, Business Development Manager, and HE Dr. Raja Al Gurg, President Dubai Business Women Council for this incredible opportunity to share my personal journey. I hope the audience enjoyed the session as much as I did.
